Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Irfan has set a new record of being the most economical bowler in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL).
Irfan took two wickets and conceded only one run in his fantastic spell while playing for Barbados Tridents against St Kitts and Nevis Patriots in Bridgetown.
Irfan took two wickets and conceded only one run in his fantastic spell while playing for Barbados Tridents against St Kitts and Nevis Patriots in Bridgetown.
The record was, earlier, registered to the names of South African bowler Chris Morris and Sri Lanka's Chanaka Welegedara with an economy rate of 0.5 each after bowling a full quota of 4 overs.
Irfan now has the best economy in an innings of 0.25 after bowling his full quota of four overs. He ended up with the figures of 2/1 bowling 3 maiden overs.
Irfan has played a total of 20 T20 internationals for Pakistan where he has taken 15 wickets with an economy rate of 7.25.
However, his sensational bowling spell could not help his team even after taking the wickets of Chris Gayle and Evin Lewis as they lost the match by six wickets."I'm really happy. I would've been happier if the team won, but I am happy that I bowled one of the best spells in T20 cricket," Irfan said.
